IBM has expanded its existing whole-of-government agreement with the NSW Government, to provide a more streamlined process for agencies to access emerging technology and co-creation service capabilities. The agreement is designed to deliver cost savings to the NSW Government over the next three years and is aimed to improve existing services, while delivering new capabilities in areas like public safety, education, justice and citizen services.
The government’s nine departments and their agencies will be able to more easily access technologies like IBM Hybrid Cloud, AI and Security, as well as ideation services through IBM Garage, to accelerate innovation and advance workforce skills. Katrina Troughton, Managing Director of IBM Australia and New Zealand, said the partnership will foster a culture that will help advance the skills profile of the state and create job opportunities in high-growth areas.
“After more than 30 years working with the NSW Government, this is an important milestone for our relationship and we look forward to collaborating on solutions that impact the lives of the more than eight million people who call NSW home,” said Troughton.
The contract was signed on 31 March 2021.
