Siemens has announced ‘Secom Technical Services’ as the first Australian solution partner for the Smart Infrastructure building security portfolio ‘Siveillance’. The partnership will focus on offering open, modular and fully scalable solutions for critical infrastructure, including defence facilities, correctional institutions, government department and agency buildings. The Siveillance portfolio is already in use across Australia, including within the ports, healthcare, correctional and premium office vertical markets.

A leading provider of integrate security services, Secom Technical Services is a subsidiary of Secom Group. Established in 1986, with offices throughout Australia, Secom Technical Services has over 100 employees across the country and provides training and development strategies to ensure the workforce is current with leading-edge technologies.

Jeff Connolly, CEO of Siemens Australia, commended Secom’s experience in public sector security, noting that the company has a long history of providing security solutions to government departments. Connolly said that there has never been a more important time for mid- to large-sized industrial customers to assess how they manage risk, while reducing operational costs.

“Critical infrastructure facilities are no longer passive assets — more and more, they are digitally connected. This has changed the building security landscape, and we are seeing greater demand for flexibility, as well as open, scalable security architecture that reflects the rapidly changing needs of the market,” Connolly said.

Chris Anlezark, Director at Secom Technical Services, added that the combination of Secom’s local knowledge and expertise and Siemens’ technological prowess is a win-win for customers and the market.

“We’re excited to partner with Siemens to offer their world-renowned security solutions to our customers in Australia. Secom is an agile and innovative company reputed for providing solutions that match rapidly evolving market requirements. We’re therefore pleased to partner with a like-minded company such as Siemens,” Anlezark said.

The partnership will encompass the entire Siemens Smart Infrastructure security portfolio, known as Siveillance Suite. The portfolio includes integrated access control technology, IP video management software and an incident management workflow engine designed to support security management at critical infrastructure sites. Known as Siveillance Control Pro (formerly Siveillance Vantage), it not only combines all the sub-systems currently used to protect and manage a site, but also allows security policies and procedures to be integrated using workflows and automated actions.

Secom offers a personalised approach to security services that includes the engineering design, installation and maintenance of access control, CCTV systems and Type 1A solutions.
