We’re back travelling around the country and the term “travelling light” got a whole new meaning with the release of the new July Carry On Light – it’s the world’s lightest double-wheel suitcase in the world.

The July Carry-On Light, from the Australian direct-to-consumer luggage company, is a featherweight 1.8kg – that’s less than two 1L bottles of water.

This is big news for travellers who can now worry less about their travel weight limits and fit everything they need in this carry-on case.

“Around 60 per cent of travellers have told us that luggage weight allowances are a key pain point of flying” says July co-founder Athan Didaskalou.

“We took this challenge head on. If we were going to try to solve this, how can we do it better than anyone else?”

To save weight a lot of other luggage brands remove features including wheels and less stable single bar handles which just result in a bag that’s hard to hold and steer.

July’s Carry On Light has a new Silent Move Series 2 double wheels which offer stability and smoothness along with a twin-bar telescopic handle.

The light case is made from strong and sturdy German polycarbonate shell with stain proof lining. It also comes with July’s signature lifetime warranty.

“We spent 2020 in deep design and product development,” says Athan.

“We made an ultra-light suitcase that felt and looked like a suitcase we’d want to use.

“The result is a world-first that keeps the smooth wheels and proper handles but removes all the weight.

“We’re excited to launch Australian design thinking and innovation with the world.”

The July Carry On Light is now available in a range of colours (clay, sky, shadow, navy, charcoal, forest, sand, burgundy, monochrome) and is priced at $245.
